WHY 'MIRACLE'

Ahhh weddings.  What an occasion! They can be simple, wild, elaborate, country, exciting, and just about any other adjective you can think of.  They can also bring on a wide variety of emotions, including-let's be honest-bordem.  Weddings are great.  We, for the most part, love the opportunity to see our friends and loved ones gettin' hitched.  Sometimes though, they can be a little...well...zzzzzzzzz.

However, the truth is, if we see marriage for what it really is, a wedding regardless of how big, small, or otherwise, is an opportunity to literally witness a miracle.  Consider this:
"But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female.  'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.'  So they are no longer two, but one.  Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." -Mark 10:6-9
When a man and a woman join together in marriage God does something that only He can do.  He takes two individuals and makes them one.  Although we may not see a physical change, the mighty hand of God is at work as He joins them together.

In addition, our INCREDIBLE pre-marriage counselor showed us how marriage, when done properly, is one of the only earthly representations of the trinity we have.  It can be difficult to grasp the fact of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one God.  Just as it is difficult to understand what it means to have two individuals become one flesh.

So, regardless of the style, traditions, and other aspects of a wedding, it is so much more than just a ceremony.  It is, very literally, miraculous.
